Testimony of John W. Peterson, Past IECA President; Chairman, IECA Government Relations Committee
Presented to the SUBCOMMITTEE ON CONSERVATION, CREDIT, RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH of the COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE, United States House of Representatives, December 6th, 2005
MR. CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE SUBCOMMITTEE:
I am John Peterson, Chairman of the International Erosion Control Association’s (IECA) Government Relations Committee and an IECA Past President. On behalf of IECA’s members, President Doug Wimble, our Board, and Executive Director Ben Northcutt, I am pleased to represent IECA today and speak in support of USDA’s Watershed Programs managed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). These USDA watershed programs serve as models for the way all federal programs should work. We are pleased that you are holding these important hearings. This discussion is long overdue. (more…)
